LV Mobile Music - Gippsland Mobile DJ

LV Mobile Music providing a mobile dj service to the Gippsland, Latrobe Valley and Melbourne area for over 20 years.

I DJ regularly at The Bank Nightclub in Warragul Victoria where I DJ the OldSchool/RnB night upstairs and occasionally do the nightclub downstairs for the younger crowd. I have a background in club music so I can cater for many genres.

I have 20 years sound engineering experience (yes I’m in my 40’s) which helps me maximise the sound potential of my equipment and the room/venue. I have multiple sound systems to cater for many events.

I have thousands of songs and take requests. I pre plan set lists with clients prior to the event to make sure the client has a great party.

Examples of events I do would be:

  • nightclubs/ bars
  • weddings
  • engagement parties
  • 18th, 21st, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th parties
  • corporate functions
  • sports club functions
  • council functions

I use A grade equipment for all my events. For a list of my equipment please click here

Mobile DJ promo video 2022

Rnb & old school party mix demo 2022

A mix with a bit of everything for all ages. 70’s 80’s 90’s 00’s.

Rough examples of different setup's I can provide.

Example 1

2 x 15 inch full range speakers (Yamaha DXR 15)

3 x disco lights

1 x smoke machine

1 x mic

This is what you get 95% of the time when you hire a mobile dj. A pair of speakers running at full range meaning the speakers cover the full frequency range. You will find the internet full of pictures of mobile DJ’s with similar setups like this.

In fact most mobile DJ setup’s you will find don’t even meet this standard as they usually use cheaper speakers. Yamaha DXR 15’s are one of the best mobile dj speakers because they do a great job without a sub.

When running a pair of speakers your asking the speakers to do a lot of work and the end result is a less than clear sound especially in the bass department.

This set up is good for up to 100 people depending on event and room.

NOTE: Keep in mind the average price a country DJ would charge for something like this would be approximately $500 – $600. For a wedding it would be $600 – $800. In Melbourne you can expect to pay an extra 30 – 100% more.

Example 2

1 x sub (Yamaha DXS 15 mk2)

2 x speakers (Yamaha DXR 10 mk2)

3 x disco lights

1 x smoke machine

1 x mic

This setup sounds much nicer with a 15 inch sub and 2 x 10 inch speakers. Clarity increases. Bass sounds nicer. Overall a more balanced and nicer sound. My favourite set up. Doesn’t take too long to set up/ pack up.

Good for up to 150 people comfortably  depending on event and room.

Example 3

Same as example 2 except more light stands and extra lights. Including a lazer now as well.

Good for up to 150 people comfortably depending on event and room.

Example 4

2 x 15 inch subs

2 x 15 inch speakers

Same lights as example 3

Now we add a 2nd sub and change the 10 inch top speakers to 15 inch speakers. This adds a lot more fullness to the sound.

Good for up to around 250 people comfortably depending on event and room.

Example 5

2 x 15 inch subs

2 x 15 inch top speakers

2 x 10 inch top speakers

1 x smoke machine

2 x lazers

5 x disco lights

1 x mic

This set up gives me 4400 watts RMS of Yamaha/Nexo power. Sounds awesome. A very wide sound. Good for bigger rooms. Overkill for most people but puts a smile on my face anyhow.

The cost in setting something like this up really comes down to time. As you can imagine it would take more time to set up and pack up but not as long as you probably think.

Good for up to 350 – 400 people comfortably. An extra sub would give me a capacity figure somewhere around 500 people.
